De Quervain's disease
De Quervain's disease with the pain at the radial side of the wrist which is common in women between ages 30 and 60.
De Quervain's tenosynovitis is a painful condition affecting the tendons on the thumb side of your wrist.
If you have de Quervain's tenosynovitis, it will probably hurt when you turn your wrist ulnar side of wrist.

What are the symptoms?

Pain near the base of your thumb

Pain induced in case of thumb flexion.

Pain induced in case of thumb pulling simultaneously bending thumb radial side of wrist.

It occurs in abductor pollicis longus and brevis muscle.

How to treat it?
Step 1
Diagnosis
There are radiographic and ultrasound tests.
Step 2
Conservative / Medicine Treatment
As an initial treatment, conservative treatment should be done such as anti-inflammatory drugs, splint fixing and rest.
If there is no change in condition, injection of steroid and local anaesthetic is effective for the patients.
However, you should be avoided more than 3 or 4 times injections because repeated injections causes side effects.
Step 3
Surgical Treatment
If symptoms persist for more than 6 months or recur, surgical treatment should be considered.
